Julie worked tirelessly for children.

From being a teacher to creating Writers in the Schools, to Camp Caldera, to the Mercy Corps Action Center, to College Possible and The Children’s Institute, helping children is the central thread of her life’s work.

Memorial funds have been set up in her name at two organizations close to her heart.

Thank you for your support!

Julie Mancini really couldn’t stand attention, but her impact on all of us is too important not to share.

So don’t be a douchebag, if Julie has encouraged you, pushed you, or told you to go fuck yourself, please share a story.

Please, this isn’t a place for grand tributes; a site for slivers of her spirit, no matter how small. No story is too silly or insignificant. Let’s celebrate Julie as much as she celebrated us.

“My Final Moment with Mom”

by Peter Mancini Bromka

“I just always felt that there’s enough to go around.”

— Julie

Julie Anne Mancini died peacefully of lung cancer on August 29th at 9:54 pm 2022 with her sons holding her closely.

While we, her family, appreciate your support, this space is not about us. Julie was a force of nature, and this is intended to celebrate and share the impact she had on all of us.

If her absence breaks your heart know that you are in good company.

“She changed my life,” has been said by countless of us who will never be the same because of the gift of her presence in our life.
