Nancy Hamilton

I can’t remember when I met Julie but it must have been 20 years ago or so. She did what everyone at the celebration of her life today described. “Who are you? What do you do? Why? What do you want to do?” I might have been working on a school bond campaign. Not sure though. From that first encounter I got to live in the Julie orbit. She always just believed in me. She kicked my ass. She got my back. She’d coax me forward or push me to change it up. We share a love of the work “fuck” and I would like to think it helped endear me to her because - well, what a gift! We would laugh and conspire when we ran into each other and I would always leave those times - usually at some event or another - with a dose of infectious joy and a glimpse of hope for the world. She showed up so completely every day of her life. And to Dennis, Peter and Alec - thank you so much for so generously sharing her with all of us. I am so fucking sad that she’s gone.
