I’m grateful and feeling blessed to have known Julie, to have had her in my life and to call her my dear friend. She loved me and I love her.
Sometimes people mistook us for each other, some thought we were sisters. We both loved that.
Our friendship started like many - but grew into a precious gift. Julie was all the wonderfully descriptive things people will remember her for and more: - smart, witty, irreverent, classy, humorous, a game changer, a warrior, a mentor, a teacher, a leader, generous, a thinker, a giver, an innovator, a great listener who asked great questions- someone who gave her all. She had a voice to be heard and she made a difference. She was a great friend to so many. Julie was also complicated. She had her moments of doubt, vulnerability, tenderness - as many exceptional humans do, that care and give so much of themselves - for that she went home to her family. Her love for her boys (and their growing families) and Dennis - - nourished her soul. They helped to restored her energy, and strength. They grounded her. Her family was everything to her. She was a great mom and the best “off the rails” grandmother ever.
Julie will continue to inspire me to be better and do better. She will remain in my heart - as my dear dear friend forever. I love her so much.

Here is my funny story to share:
Julie and I went to a movie in Vancouver. After, Julie insisted we drive by the Dairy Queen for one of Julie’s favorite dessert, a soft serve DQ cone ! We were standing in line. We noticed a women kept looking at us, then she came over and asked
“ Are you two twins?” We laughed and said yes, we were twins - but we had different mothers!” The women smiled and said - “Isn’t that nice” - we laughed- Julie said
“ either you look younger or I look older” - I assured her I looked younger- (I’m 4 years older.)

More later.
