Margaret Hinshaw

When Jeremy was considering hiring her, I said, “She’s Portland’s Oprah,” and I hadn’t officially met her yet. After he hired her, we had a deal to always answer each other’s calls as we both managed our time there. I think I walked into her office about 1,475 times, shut the door, sat down, and we’d both say “fuuck.” There was also a steady stream of people in and out of her office who were receiving the best kinds of support and advise. For the good people (not the douche bags) she truly believed we were all rock stars. No matter who you were and how brave you were she made you feel more true and more brave.

She taught me to say: “That doesn’t play to my strengths.” “Don’t insult me.”

And we always laughed.
