Thank you, KK. A lovely tribute for THE GAL, one of the reasons I came to PDX in ‘98 and one of the reasons I stayed. A light has gone out over Portland. I have so many Mancini stories but, too weepy to write, I will leave you with one. She showed up at my first reading at Powell’s with an orchid corsage and yes, I felt like the belle of the ball. I know I am not the only one. She had that way about her for so many of us writer types. Thank you, Ms. Julie Mancini. God speed. Raise hell wherever you are. My love to you and your family.
