Ken DuBois

In the 1990s, when Literary Arts was growing rapidly, Julie was often asked to do interviews. She didn’t put much stock in them – or enjoy them – but she did them anyway. One morning she was on the KATU-TV morning show as part of a panel of “Amazing Women.” The host breathlessly asked each woman about their amazing life and accomplishments, which seemed to make everyone uncomfortable. At the end, the host asked, “What’s next for you – what are you looking forward to?” Julie said, “Getting through this interview.” The whole panel just fell apart.

But the host was right: Julie was amazing.

My heart goes out to her family and all of her many close friends. Peace.

- Ken DuBois (Literary Arts staff 1989-98)
