Joan Robinson

In December, 1984 Julie and Dennis and I were at a Christmas party. It was 4 months after my mother’s sudden death. I had been reading about coping with death (reading was, in those days, my usual way of trying to understand the world) but nothing helped me much. Then Julie said “There is no script for mourning, Joan.” Those words relieved and released me. I pass them on to all who are mourning our beloved Julie.
