My brother and I always looked forward to staying with Julie and Dennie when we visited Portland. Julie will always be my super fun, effortlessly cool god mother, who treated us like her own family. Our eyes would light up when she would open her pantry door and say we could make ourselves a plate of candy for lunch — that never happened at home. A drive up to a camp she was involved in ended in stomach aches from laughing so hard as Julie drove over the orange cones on the side of the road to knock them over. As a 6 year old, setting off fireworks on their street seemed like something that we could in trouble for - but we never did. Julie had the ability to create pure magic and I miss her dearly. All my love.
