My in-laws, Bill and Meredith Savery, asked me to invite Julie and Dennis over to meet our new baby (2008). We had met several times and I was delighted about a visit, but the mandate grew into hosting a dinner for 6 adults on the patio. I got a tip from Meredith that Julie loved whipped cream. After dinner, I brought out berries and placed an enormous bowl of freshly whipped cream next to Julie, who was deep in conversation. She finally noticed, asking 'oh, is that whipped cream?' and proceeded to serve herself heaping dollops of whipped cream onto her plate. She must have eaten 3/4 of the bowl. It still gives me such pleasure to have provided her that treat and to have her delighted smile beamed my way.
